Summer Winding Down

OK - OK - here's a new post!

I've been spending a lot less time on the computer lately. Katy has needed to use it more since she's taken on more work. She has a new work-from-home copy-editing job, and she'll be teaching two Eng104 courses starting tomorrow. Mommy will be very busy this fall!

What's New

• Gram brought Sammy and Clare down for a visit.
• We acquired a playset for the backyard. Pop-pop came over to help put it together. Duane came by to finish it up. I later added a second slide and boarded up the access to the monkey bars - because my fearless little girl was playing too close to the edge for my comfort.

Ellie:

• Is walking very well now
• Favorite animal - duck. She calls them "cack cack" (quack).
• Words - car, shoes, night-night, hi, Mommy, Daddy, Pop-pop, Jesus, ball.
• Favorite word - NO
• Loves to read. Don't even try putting the book down unless you know she's ready to do something else. Otherwise she'll use her favorite word.
• Favorite book - "Good Morning, Good Night"
  
• Is trying to learn how to use a spoon.
• We finally have Ellie's room set up enough that she can sleep and play in it.
  

John:

• Favorite books - Mercer Mayer "Little Critter" books. He takes a stack with him to bed every night.
• Now that he's read the "Little Critter" book about saving money in a piggy bank, he's made an effort to clean up his toys - if he gets a coin!
• Enjoys trips with his dad to the tool store.
• Pretends he's Optimus Prime and that I'm Devastator. We wrestle.
